Usage
The CANverter makes it easy to integrate sensors and electronics in remote robot mechanisms, removing the need for additional wire routes by providing regulated power and CAN bus interface. It unlocks the ability to use I2C color and distance sensors, as well as extra analog, digital, PWM, and encoder inputs.
Its four IO channels and two power rails can be configured in code over CAN, or by connecting to a computer over USB and using DataView, our desktop application for monitoring and configuration.
Capabilities
- Read or output 3.3/5V digital signals (limit switches, break beams)
- Sense 0-5V analog voltage at 12-bit resolution (abs. encoders, potentiometers)
- Decode PWM absolute encoders
- Encode PWM pulse trains to WS2812B LEDs
- Connect with any I2C sensor using custom registers
- Read A/B quadrature encoder values
- Separately configure power rail output between 0V (disabled), 3.3V and 5V
Features
- Configurable pull-up/pull-down/float behavior
- 5-28V input voltage
- ESD and reverse polarity protection
- 500mA resettable fuse on output power rails
- CAN-FD hardware capable
- Toggle-able CAN termination
- 4x RGB data-indication LED
- Locking Molex-SL outputs, Weidmuller inputs
- 32x32x16mm size
