Usage
This sensor is ideal for detecting the presence and color of objects, including FTC game elements.
By default, the sensor operates in I2C mode, allowing users to read data and configure output pins. After configuring, the LED blinks three times to confirm success. The sensor retains its configuration after power cycling until it is reset to I2C mode.
- Pin 0: Supports analog output for all six data channels (Red, Green, Blue, Alpha, Hue, Proximity) or acts as a digital threshold pin.
- Pin 1: Configurable for digital threshold alerts based on any of the six data channels.
Why Digital/Analog?
One I2C sensor can take anywhere from 3-7 milliseconds to read, which can tank the speed at which your opmode loops. Faster loop speeds are important because they improve PID performance and localization accuracy.
Features
- RGB Color Detection: Provides precise 16-bit resolution for Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) channels, with onboard conversion to Hue and Alpha values.
- Proximity Sensing: Detects objects at a maximum range of 100mm (~4 inches) and is accurate down to 0.01mm within the first 20mm.
- Configurable Outputs: Two output pins that can be set to I2C, digital, or analog modes. Pin 0 supports analog output for proximity and hue, while both allow for digital threshold configuration.
- Built-in White LED: Adjustable brightness for optimal illumination of target surfaces.
- I2C Fast Mode: Supports 400kHz I2C communication with auto-increment reading and configurable address.
